Guru Gobind Singh Fellowship
UCSD gets one nomination for the Guru Gobind Singh Fellowship, an award of $30,000 given to a current UC student who graduated from Indian or Pakistani university in a specific geographical region of those countries (it includes Delhi--please contact me for the map), would like to return after getting a graduate degree, and who hasn't undertaken graduate study at another university in the United States at any point. Students already holding a master's degree and who have already reached the dissertation stage will be given preference, but these last are not absolute qualifications. Your department must be willing to provide you with a nonresident tuition fellowships until your program of study is complete, commencing the year following the award.
To apply, please send me at least one letter of recommendation, your transcript, a statement of your academic interests, and another brief statement about how you would plan to use your education in India or Pakistan after graduation by April 11.
