China Scholarship Program Opportunity for UC Students

Chinese government scholarship program available for foreign, e.g. non-Chinese, undergraduate students, graduate students and “scholars” to study and conduct research in selected Chinese universities. See below for the program description and application forms (in both Chinese and English). More information can also be found at:

While the amount of financial support is rather limited, this program may be of significant interest particularly to UC students planning to spend time in China.

DoD Autism Research Program - Funding Opportunities

The Fiscal Year 2009 (FY09) Defense Appropriations Act provides $8 million to the Department of Defense Autism Research Program (ARP) to support high-impact, innovative research to improve the lives of individuals with autism spectrum disorders now. This program is administered by the U.S. Army Medical Research and Material Command through the Office of the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP). The Fiscal Year 2009 (FY09) Department of Defense Autism Research Program (ARP) has released the following funding opportunities:

Joseph Naiman Graduate Fellowship

Joseph Naiman Graduate Fellowship - Mini Grants for Japanese Studies

Details:
The Program in Japanese Studies is pleased encouraging graduate students in Japanese Studies to apply for a Joseph Naiman Graduate Fellowship. These mini-grants are intended for summer and academic research for 2008-2009. Applicants can apply for up to $10,000 to support research and study on Japan.


Deadline: Friday, May 8, 2009
Award Amount: $10,000

Please submit: 4 sets of copies containing your CV, grant proposal, budget (rough estimate of how you plan to spend the money if awarded), two letters of recommendation from UCSD faculty, and other sources of funding (pending or committed. Please include any financial aid you are currently receiving or will receive)) by Friday, May, 8, 2009.

NIH deadline coming up - IMPORTANT UPDATES!

For all graduate students who are planning to submit NIH/NRSA applications for the April 8th deadline, we need those forms to review 2 weeks PRIOR to the NIH deadline. That means you need to get them to me by tomorrow; Wednesday, March 25.

Also, OGS will now require the NRSA assurance form, which can be found here.
